The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has announced the formation of the Joint Cadre Authority (JCA) for All India Service (IAS, IPS, and IFoS) officers from Union Territories (UTs), including Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-J&K, among others. The JCA is established in consultation with the concerned state governments, as per the All India Services (Joint Cadre) Rules, 1972.
The current JCA comprises three members, three special invitees, and two convenors, as detailed below:
Members:
- Union Home Secretary (representing all UTs for IAS/IPS);
- DG of Forests & Special Secretary (representing all UTs for IFoS);
- Chief Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh;
- Chief Secretary, Goa;
- Chief Secretary, Mizoram.
Special Invitees:
- Chief Secretary, NCT of Delhi;
- Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir;
- Chief Secretary, Puducherry.
Convenors:
- Joint Secretary (UT) / Additional Secretary (UT), MHA (IAS/IPS);
- Joint Secretary (IFS Division) / IG of Forests (IFS Division), MoEF&CC (IFoS).
