In a fresh round of administrative reshuffle, Delhi Administration has issued transfer and posting orders for five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the AGMUT cadre, currently serving with the Delhi Police.
The new appointments are aimed at strengthening key divisions across the force and come into immediate effect.
1997 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda has been appointed as Special Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Division). In addition to his primary role, he will also hold additional charge of the Perception Management & Media Cell Division, as well as SPUWAC & SPUNER, the units responsible for crimes against women and children.
1997 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, Mr Atul Katiyar has been appointed as Special Commissioner of Police (Welfare). He will now be responsible for overseeing the welfare initiatives and personnel management within the Delhi Police force.
Sanjay Kumar, also an IPS officer of 1997 batch, will take charge as Special Commissioner of Police (Training), a crucial role in shaping the future preparedness and capacity-building of Delhi Police personnel.
2009 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, Mr Mangesh Kashyap has been assigned the role of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime). His appointment to the Crime Branch comes at a time when the city police is stepping up efforts to combat organized crime and cyber offences.
Sweta Chauhan (IPS: 2010: AGMUT) has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (Security). Her new assignment will include oversight of security arrangements in the capital, including high-profile events and VVIP protection protocols.
These reshuffles are part of routine cadre management but come at a time when the capital is gearing up for high-stakes national events and continued law enforcement challenges. The appointments are seen as a strategic move to optimize the leadership structure across key departments of the Delhi Police.
