APEDA supported the exporting unit under its Financial Assistance Scheme, which is aimed at supporting eligible activities related to agricultural and processed food exports.
APEDA Links FPO With International Market
The export is part of APEDA’s efforts to connect Farmer Producer Organisations and Farmer Producer Companies (FPOs/FPCs) with exporters and international markets.
According to APEDA, the FPO-led model is intended to connect agricultural production with processing and export markets and help integrate farmer groups into export-oriented value chains.
APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev congratulated Aterna Foods and other stakeholders involved in the shipment. He said the direct export by the FPO could enhance value realisation for producers and also acknowledged the contribution of the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM).
Canada Emerges as Target Market for Processed Foods
The shipment adds to efforts to expand the overseas market for Indian processed food products, with APEDA highlighting Canada as a market for further export opportunities.
The export also demonstrates how FPOs can participate directly in international trade when agricultural produce is combined with processing, packaging and market linkages.
APEDA, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, continues to facilitate export opportunities for agricultural and processed food products and support linkages between farmer groups and global markets.
