New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited held its 7th Vigilance Structured Meeting on September 17, 2026, as part of the Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026, which is being observed from August 16 to November 15, 2026.
The campaign is being conducted under the theme “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि / Probity for Prosperity”, with a focus on strengthening transparency, integrity and ethical governance across organisations.
The meeting was chaired by Rajnesh Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), GAIL, and was attended by Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers and Nodal Officers from 16 Joint Ventures, Subsidiaries and other organisations. The meeting was conducted in both physical and virtual modes.
GAIL Vigilance Meeting Focuses on Transparency and Risk Management
The discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening vigilance systems and promoting proactive approaches to risk management.
Key areas discussed included:
- Strengthening vigilance mechanisms
- Institutionalising proactive risk management
- Improving transparency and accountability
- Promoting integrity and ethical governance
- Enhancing coordination among Joint Ventures and Subsidiaries
- Using technology to improve vigilance administration
The meeting was part of GAIL’s broader efforts to strengthen preventive vigilance and promote a culture of probity across its associated organisations.

Vigilance Case Studies Highlight Preventive Approaches
As part of the awareness and capacity-building initiatives under the campaign, two in-house developed vigilance case-study-based videos were screened during the meeting.
The case studies were intended to support greater awareness of vigilance-related issues and encourage organisations to adopt preventive measures in their respective areas of operation.
GAIL Highlights Measures to Reduce Gas Losses
A key presentation during the meeting was delivered by Ajay Deep, General Manager (Vigilance), GAIL, on “Lost and Unaccounted for Gas (LAUF)”.
The presentation focused on preventive strategies and best practices for minimising gas losses in City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies.
The discussion highlighted the importance of identifying potential areas contributing to gas losses and adopting appropriate preventive measures to improve operational efficiency and accountability.
Focus on High-Risk Areas and Faster Resolution of Dues
S. D. Sharma, CGM (Vigilance), emphasised the need for proactive identification of high-risk areas across the organisations.
He highlighted several areas requiring focused attention, including:
- Early identification of high-risk areas
- Faster resolution of outstanding dues
- Greater collaboration among Joint Ventures and Subsidiaries
- Wider adoption of technology-driven solutions
- Enhanced transparency and efficiency in vigilance administration
The emphasis was on moving beyond reactive vigilance measures towards a more proactive and preventive approach.
MDs, CEOs and Nodal Officers Asked to Monitor Campaign Activities
During the meeting, all Managing Directors, CEOs and Nodal Officers were advised to ensure active participation and effective implementation of the Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026 within their respective organisations.
They were also advised to maintain close monitoring of campaign activities to ensure that the objectives of the campaign are effectively implemented.
The structured meeting provided a common platform for GAIL’s Joint Ventures, Subsidiaries and associated organisations to discuss vigilance practices, share experiences and strengthen preventive mechanisms.

The Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026 is being observed from August 16 to November 15, 2026, under the theme “Probity for Prosperity.”
The campaign seeks to promote integrity, transparency and accountability while encouraging organisations to identify and address risks before they develop into larger governance or operational concerns.
