The Centre told the Supreme Court on Friday that the candidates could not appear in their last attempt in the Civil Services exam this year due to the Covid pandemic may get another opportunity.
It is to be noted that after not being able to appear in the exam due to Covid pandemic, civil services aspirants had filed a plea in the SC seeking an extra chance.
An SC bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar, B R Gavai and Krishna Murari heard their plea.
The Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the bench that the issue of candidates is under the government’s consideration.
The top court directed the Centre to grant one more opportunity to those candidates who could not appear in their last attempt.
The bench also told that only the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) can take the decision on this.
However, the bench listed the case in January next year.
