The West Bengal on Friday said that the state would approach the Supreme Court following the order of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to three Bengal cadre IPS officers to join the Central deputation.
The decision of the state govt was announced by the state govt secretariat. Later on, Kalyan Banerjee, a TMC leader confirmed the move.

The Centre on Thursday asked the Bengal govt to release the three officers, adding that they were already given new assignments. The officers were asked to report by 5pm on Friday.
Notably, the MHA had called the three IPS officers on Central Deputations after the carcade of the Bhartiya Janata Party president was attacked in the Bengal during his visit. The three IPS officers were responsible for their security.
