The Madhya Pradesh Government is set to bring together private bus operators, transport experts, policymakers and industry representatives at the Passenger Transport Vision Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12 at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore.

The two-day event, organised by the Transport Department, will focus on strengthening passenger transport in the state, with the Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva as a key area of discussion.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will attend the summit as the Chief Guest, while Transport and School Education Minister Rao Uday Pratap Singh will be the Special Guest.

The summit aims to bring government agencies and private sector players together to discuss the future of bus services, investment opportunities, technology adoption and the proposed public-private partnership framework.

Focus on PPP Model and Future Mobility

A major focus of the summit will be the proposed framework for operating bus services under a 100 per cent Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Discussions will centre on how private participation can help expand and improve passenger transport services across Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva is expected to open opportunities across several areas, including bus manufacturing, electric and hydrogen-powered transport, fleet management, charging facilities, digital ticketing and Intelligent Transport Systems.

Technology-led solutions such as artificial intelligence-based route planning, passenger information systems, smart bus stops and digital payment systems will also form part of the discussions.

The government intends to use the summit to seek industry inputs on the requirements of the state’s passenger transport network and identify areas where private companies can participate through investment, technology and operational expertise.

Industry Stakeholders to Explore Investment Opportunities

The event will provide a platform for private bus operators, vehicle manufacturers, technology firms, infrastructure companies, clean-energy businesses, financial institutions and mobility service providers to interact with government representatives.

Participants will be able to learn about the state’s proposed PPP structure, upcoming requirements and areas where pilot projects and investments could be taken up.

One-to-one meetings with officials associated with the initiative will also be organised, allowing companies to discuss their proposals and explore possible partnerships with the state government.

The discussions will cover areas such as clean mobility, Intelligent Transport Management Systems, fleet technology, digital ticketing, smart transport infrastructure, AI-based route optimisation and mobility finance.

Mobility Vision 2030 Among Key Summit Outcomes

The summit is expected to contribute towards shaping a Mobility Vision 2030 roadmap for Madhya Pradesh. Other areas of focus include expanding PPP participation, developing a digital-first transport framework, promoting cleaner modes of transportation and creating opportunities for private investment and pilot projects.

The government also plans to strengthen coordination between policymakers, transport authorities and industry players while keeping passenger convenience at the centre of future transport planning.

Six broad themes will guide the discussions — PPP-based mobility, Intelligent Transport Management Systems, financial sustainability, clean mobility, integrated ticketing and improved passenger experience.

Through the summit, Madhya Pradesh aims to build a stronger partnership between the government and private sector and lay the groundwork for expanding passenger transport services across the state.
