Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai has approved road projects worth more than Rs. 6 crore to strengthen connectivity in Jashpur district. The initiative is set to provide better access to prominent tourist spots while easing travel for local residents.
Roads to Connect Key Tourist Destinations
Under the sanction, a total of Rs. 6 crore 54 lakh has been allocated for the construction of two concrete roads in the Kunkuri area under the Public Works Department Division-Jashpur. The projects include:
- A 3 km long road from Jokari to Madheshwar Pahad at a cost of Rs. 3 crore 69 lakh.
- A 1.30 km long road from NH-43 to Mayali Dam at a cost of Rs. 2 crore 85 lakh.
The tender process will begin soon, after which work is expected to start.
Boost to Tourism and Local Economy
The new roads will provide all-weather connectivity to Madheshwar Pahad and Mayali Dam, two important tourist attractions of Jashpur. Local villagers expressed that travel during the rainy season was difficult in the past, but the new roads will ensure smooth access for both devotees and tourists.
Officials highlighted that this initiative will not only make tourism sites more accessible but will also attract more visitors, thereby opening new employment opportunities for local communities and boosting the regional economy.
CM’s Vision for Development and Connectivity
Mr. Sai described the sanction as a step towards giving Jashpur a new identity in tourism while supporting sustainable rural development. Improved infrastructure is expected to strengthen economic activities, create jobs, and make Jashpur an emerging destination in Chhattisgarh’s tourism map.
