Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, who recently returned from a 10-day foreign tour, announced a major relief measure for farmers of Chhattisgarh. With the intervention of the Chief Minister, the Government of India has approved the allocation of 60,800 metric tons of urea for September, ensuring timely supply for the Kharif season.
Timely Fertilizer Supply for Farmers
The September allocation includes 58,100 metric tons of indigenous urea and 2,700 metric tons of imported urea. Officials clarified that the state receives nearly 100 percent of its urea supply through indigenous companies, minimizing dependency on imports and ensuring stability in the fertilizer distribution system.
To streamline supply, about 30–35 percent of the indigenous allocation, nearly 20,000 metric tons, will reach the state in the first week of September. Another 35,000 metric tons will be delivered within the next 15 days, while the remaining allocation will arrive by the end of the month. This phased supply will ensure that farmers face no shortage during critical crop growth stages.
Strict Monitoring of Supply Chain
The state government has directed fertilizer companies to provide time-bound rake-wise supply schedules to guarantee availability as per farmers’ demand. Officials confirmed that within the next 10–12 days, supply will be completely normalized across districts.
CM Reiterates Commitment to Farmers
Expressing gratitude to the Government of India, Mr. Sai assured that the state government is working with full sensitivity towards every need of the farming community. He added that the timely availability of urea will safeguard Kharif crops and protect farmers from any production challenges.
This allocation marks a proactive step by the Chhattisgarh government to ensure uninterrupted fertilizer supply and reflects its commitment to strengthening agricultural productivity in the state.
