In a significant cultural and developmental initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to preserving India’s ancient cultural and democratic heritage. Speaking at the ‘Sanskritik Sammelan’ in Patna, Bihar, Dr. Yadav underlined the state’s efforts to memorialize the life and teachings of Lord Shri Krishna by developing his ‘leela’ sites across Madhya Pradesh.
He also announced ambitious projects like constructing Gita Bhavans in every urban body and reviving Gurukul education through Sandipani schools at over 300 locations in the state.
Cultural Revival Rooted in Governance and Heritage
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav likened India’s democratic values to a “banyan tree” whose roots were nurtured by the ancient ethos of inclusivity and righteousness. He stated that Lord Krishna, known for his inclusive governance and wisdom, symbolized the core of democratic values even in ancient times.
“Our government is walking the path shown by Lord Krishna, promoting social reform, cultural identity, and spiritual awakening through development,” said Dr. Yadav.
Krishna’s Childhood Sites to Become Spiritual Tourism Hubs
Highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s connection with Lord Krishna, Dr. Yadav announced plans to identify and develop Shri Krishna Payey—important places associated with his childhood and spiritual journey. These include:
- Restoration and development of leela sites in Madhya Pradesh
- Construction of Gita Bhavans to spread the message of Bhagavad Gita
- Establishment of Sandipani schools to revive ancient Gurukul education
These initiatives aim to promote spiritual tourism, cultural education, and heritage preservation.
A Strong Call for Social Reform and National Unity
Dr. Yadav addressed a large gathering during the event organized by the Bihar unit of All India Yadav Mahasabha Ahir, emphasizing the importance of social reform, national integration, and heritage-led development. He praised Bihar as the land of wisdom and peace, tracing its spiritual impact from Lord Buddha to modern-day values of non-violence and harmony.
Invitation to Explore Krishna’s Legacy in Madhya Pradesh
Extending an open invitation to the citizens of Bihar, the Chief Minister encouraged them to visit Madhya Pradesh and witness firsthand the holy places tied to Lord Krishna’s early life, including the Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain and the birthplace of his legendary friendship with Sudama.
“Madhya Pradesh is blessed to hold in its soil the eternal memories of Lord Krishna. We are committed to transforming these places into spiritual and educational landmarks for future generations,” he said.
Development Through Heritage: A Welfare State Vision
