Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 2,425 newly selected Chief Sevikas and 13 pharmacists in the Department of Child Development and Nutrition, as part of the state’s flagship Mission Rozgar (Mission Employment) initiative. The event was held at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow and marked the department’s largest recruitment drive in over two decades.
Empowering Women Through Employment
The recruitment, conducted through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), is being hailed as a major step toward women’s empowerment and strengthening health and nutrition services in the state. Officials highlighted that the new appointments will infuse fresh energy into Anganwadi services and enhance the implementation of women and child welfare schemes across the state.
Support for Underprivileged Families
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi emphasized the government’s commitment to social welfare. Under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, the state is providing ₹1 lakh financial assistance for the marriage of eligible daughters from underprivileged families. “No family needs to worry about their daughter’s wedding if they lack resources — the government will take responsibility,” he stated.
Record Recruitment of Women in Police Force
Highlighting the state’s efforts in empowering women through employment, CM Yogi said that over 40,000 women have been recruited into the Uttar Pradesh Police Force in the last eight years. He underscored that all recruitment processes were conducted in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner.
He added that the recent police recruitment drive, which filled 60,244 positions, included 12,045 women candidates, reaching even the most remote sections of society.
