Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary and spokesperson Mr. Vinod Pandey has strongly rejected the recent allegations made by BJP leaders against Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren and the state government. Calling the accusations “baseless and politically motivated,” Mr. Pandey asserted that over the past five and a half years, Jharkhand has witnessed measurable progress in development, governance, and social justice.
He emphasized that the BJP is “unable to digest” the state’s steady advancement under a tribal-led government that prioritizes inclusion, transparency, and grassroots empowerment.
Major Welfare Schemes Delivering Social Justice
Mr. Pandey outlined a number of flagship welfare schemes launched by the Soren-led administration that are transforming the lives of rural and marginalized communities:
- Mainiyan Samman Yojana: Supporting the elderly and underprivileged with dignity and care.
- Savitribai Phule Incentive Scheme: Encouraging girls’ education and reducing dropout rates.
- Universal Pension Scheme: Ensuring social security for all eligible residents, regardless of caste or class.
- Fellowship and Employment Program: Offering professional training and job opportunities for the state’s youth.
“These schemes have provided both economic and social support to thousands of families,” Mr. Pandey said, “and they are central to our government’s model of inclusive development.”
Development in Core Sectors: Education, Health, and Infrastructure
According to Mr. Pandey, the Hemant Soren government has initiated comprehensive development in critical sectors:
- Education: New model schools and digital learning infrastructure are being implemented, especially in tribal regions.
- Healthcare: Expansion of medical services, mobile health units, and rural health centres.
- Employment: Local hiring initiatives and youth skilling programs are generating opportunities.
- Infrastructure: Strategic improvements in road connectivity, irrigation projects, and access to safe drinking water.
This holistic governance model, Mr. Pandey said, places tribal and rural communities at the center—something that sets this government apart from its predecessors.
Law and Order Improved; Investment Climate Strengthened
Countering the BJP’s “jungle raj” remarks, Mr. Pandey highlighted improvements in law enforcement under the current government:
- Strengthening of police forces and rural security mechanisms.
- Decisive actions against extremism and terrorism.
- Creating a safer, more stable environment for investors and entrepreneurs.
He said that the BJP is insulting security personnel by questioning the government’s law and order achievements, and is misleading the public for electoral gain.
Allegations of Central Government Neglect
Mr. Pandey also criticized the Central Government, stating that it has repeatedly failed to provide timely financial resources for key schemes such as Urea subsidies and the Jal Jeevan Mission. According to him, the Centre has not only delayed fund transfers but has also been cutting down the state’s share in central schemes, thereby slowing development efforts.
Public Support Remains Strong, Says JMM
Responding to BJP’s electoral claims, Mr. Pandey said the people of Jharkhand have already rejected divisive politics. “The public gave its clear answer in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and will reaffirm its support in the 2025 assembly elections,” he said.
He added that under Mr. Hemant Soren’s leadership, the state is marching confidently toward a golden era of inclusive development, with the public standing firmly behind the government.
JMM’s rebuttal not only addresses the BJP’s criticism but also showcases the government’s focus on welfare, inclusion, and sustainable development. With strategic initiatives across education, healthcare, and employment, along with a strong law-and-order record, the Soren government aims to redefine governance in Jharkhand. As political narratives unfold ahead of the 2025 assembly polls, the party continues to place tribal leadership and social justice at the heart of its developmental vision.
