Bhopal: In a wide-ranging address during the “MP Tak Baithak” dialogue program organized by India Today Media Group, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts toward inclusive development, youth empowerment, urban modernization, and social justice.
Among the significant announcements, Dr. Yadav assured that mill workers from Gwalior and Ratlam, like those from Indore’s Hukum Chand Mill, will soon receive their due rights and pending benefits—reviving long-stalled labor disputes in the state’s industrial legacy.
Mill Workers’ Dues to Be Settled
Referring to the 30-year-old Hukum Chand Mill dispute in Indore, which was resolved with a ₹300 crore package, the CM declared that similar action would be taken for Sajjan Mill (Ratlam) and Gwalior’s textile mill workers. “No worker will be left behind. Justice delayed will no longer mean justice denied,” Dr. Yadav said, signaling a clear commitment to labor welfare.
Boost to Ladli Bahan Yojana
In a significant social welfare update, the CM revealed that the monthly support for beneficiaries under the Ladli Bahan Yojana would be gradually increased to ₹3,000. Moreover, women working in textile parks will receive an additional ₹5,000.
This comes as part of the government’s broader agenda to empower women economically, especially those in semi-urban and rural sectors.
Jobs, Exams, and Promotions: Youth-Centric Reforms
Addressing concerns of the state’s youth, CM Yadav announced:
- Combined examination for three years of MPPSC, easing the backlog and addressing delays in state-level civil services exams.
- Recruitment underway for 1 lakh government posts.
- Clearance of a 9-year-long promotion freeze, paving the way for 2 lakh new job opportunities.
“These reforms will rejuvenate Madhya Pradesh’s bureaucratic and administrative machinery,” the CM added.
Agriculture, Irrigation, and Farmer Prosperity
Citing the success of the river-linking projects, Dr. Yadav noted that the state’s irrigated land area is rapidly expanding. He also underlined the jump in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat—from ₹600 earlier to ₹2,600 per quintal today—as evidence of the government’s strong pro-farmer stance.
Ujjain’s Transformation and Simhastha 2028
Dr. Yadav laid out a grand vision for Ujjain, calling it a “religious capital” poised for a historic Simhastha Mahakumbh in 2028. Preparations include:
- Reviving the Kshipra River through the Kanh-Gambhir linkage.
- Developing 12-month water flow to support pilgrims and farmers.
- Enhancing religious tourism and eco-tourism simultaneously.
- Metropolitan Development Bill on the Horizon
In a major urban policy move, the CM announced that the state government will introduce a bill for metropolitan area development within the year. This bill aims to accelerate growth in rapidly urbanizing cities through planned infrastructure, sustainable transportation, and smart public services.
Tourism, Wildlife, and Cultural Branding
Highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s distinction as a leader in wildlife conservation, Dr. Yadav pointed out that the state ranks first in the population of tigers, cheetahs, gharials, and vultures. He also emphasized the state’s innovative marketing in tourism: “Our tourism board is the only profitable one in India.”
He championed Indore’s poha as a potential national culinary ambassador, highlighting its low-oil, healthy preparation—echoing PM Modi’s call to reduce oil consumption by 10%.
