National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) has been established at 1022 locations across the country as on 30 November 2023. This was stated by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

He also informed that VPN IDs have been created and shared with all States/UTs to ensure secured access to the NAFIS application.
