PM Gati Shakti, a National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity is a digital platform that brings together 16 ministries, including railways and roads, for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects. According to the policy guidelines/Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) of the Ministry for the development of the National Highway/Expressway under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, all projects with a total capital cost of more than Rs. 500 crore are presented to the Network Planning Group (NPG) for comments/suggestions and overall assessment of the proposal. Annexure-A contains state-specific details about National Expressways, including those in Haryana.
To guarantee that PM Gati Shakti initiatives are implemented effectively, a Network Planning Group has been formed with representation from various ministries. The primary advantages of inter-ministerial collaboration are as follows:
- Integrated and holistic infrastructure planning and development
- Inter-sectorial planning synergies
- Efficient resource usage
- Streamlined and fast-tracked clearances for the environment, forest, wildlife, etc.
- Reduced overall logistics cost and enhanced price competitiveness
