The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced an extension of the deputation tenure for Sampat Meena, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1994 batch of Jharkhand cadre.
According to a recent order issued by the DoPT, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Ms. Meena’s tenure as Additional Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for an additional year. This extension will prolong her deputation until September 21, 2025, marking a total of eight years in the role.
Ms. Meena, who initially began her tenure as Additional Director in 2017, has been recognized for her significant contributions and leadership within the CBI. Her extension underscores the government’s confidence in her capabilities and the value she continues to bring to the agency.
