New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), one of India’s premier shipbuilding companies, signed a series of significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during India Maritime Week 2025, held from 27–31 October 2025. The MoUs reaffirm GRSE’s dedication to advancing India’s shipbuilding capabilities, fostering indigenous innovation, and supporting the nation’s maritime ambitions.
Key MoUs Signed
A major MoU was signed between GRSE and IRS-CEMS in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal. The partnership focuses on collaborative initiatives in ship design, technological innovation, and maritime research, enhancing India’s domestic shipbuilding capabilities.
Another MoU was inked with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) to establish a Greenfield Shipyard. The project will involve mutual cooperation to develop a state-of-the-art shipbuilding facility along with ancillary units and a robust supporting ecosystem. The proposed shipyard will have the capability to construct advanced maritime platforms, including Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) class vessels, significantly strengthening India’s shipbuilding infrastructure and promoting Aatmanirbharta in the maritime sector.
Additionally, GRSE signed an MoU with the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), further supporting its strategy to enhance domestic capabilities and innovation in the maritime industry.
