Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Meets Toronto Investors, Invites Them to Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027

Toronto: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held key meetings with investors, entrepreneurs and industry representatives in Toronto as part of the Gujarat delegation’s US-Canada outreach ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.

On the second day of the delegation’s Toronto visit, two roundtable meetings were organised to explore opportunities for investment, innovation, startups and technology partnerships between Canada and Gujarat.

The discussions focused on strengthening business ties and identifying new avenues for Canadian enterprises to collaborate with companies and entrepreneurs in Gujarat.

Gujarat CM Meets Around 30 TiE Toronto Representatives

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met around 30 representatives of TiE Toronto, including startup founders, entrepreneurs and members of the organisation.

During the interaction, Patel discussed the vision of building a globally competitive innovation ecosystem and a strong economy under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The discussions particularly focused on strengthening cooperation between Canadian and Gujarat-based businesses in key sectors such as:

  • Technology
  • Public policy
  • Financial services
  • Fintech
  • Startups and innovation

The Chief Minister also highlighted Gujarat’s strong startup ecosystem, investor-friendly policies and world-class infrastructure as factors that can support international businesses looking to expand their operations and partnerships.

Investors Invited to Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027

A major focus of the meeting was the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.

Patel invited TiE Toronto members to explore opportunities for investment, innovation and business expansion in Gujarat ahead of the summit.

The state government is seeking to use the international outreach to attract new investments and develop long-term partnerships with global businesses.

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for Canadian entrepreneurs and investors to connect with Gujarat’s growing business and startup ecosystem.

TiE Toronto Connects Entrepreneurs and Investors

TiE Toronto, established in 2000, serves as a platform connecting entrepreneurs, investors, experts and business leaders.

Its membership includes professionals and organisations from diverse sectors, including:

  • Software and hardware
  • Healthcare and biotechnology
  • Media and telecommunications
  • IT services
  • Financial services

The organisation facilitates networking, knowledge and experience sharing, and business development among entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.

Gujarat CM Meets Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce

The Gujarat delegation also held a separate roundtable meeting with the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC).

Patel welcomed the organisation’s interest in participating in Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027 and highlighted the potential for greater business-to-business engagement.

The Chief Minister said stronger participation could create new avenues for:

  • B2B engagement
  • Investment
  • Business partnerships
  • Economic cooperation between Canada and Gujarat

The Gujarat government is looking to convert such international engagements into concrete investment opportunities and long-term economic partnerships.

Gujarat Seeks Stronger Canada Economic Ties

The Toronto meetings form part of Gujarat’s broader international outreach ahead of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.

The state is particularly looking to strengthen partnerships in technology, fintech, financial services, startups and innovation, while presenting Gujarat as an attractive destination for global investment.

The delegation’s outreach in Canada is aimed at creating stronger connections between international investors and Gujarat’s business ecosystem and further strengthening Canada-Gujarat economic relations.

Senior Gujarat Officials Join Toronto Meetings

Several senior officials from the Gujarat government participated in the roundtable discussions.

Those present included Chief Secretary M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department T. Natarajan, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries and Mines Department Mamta Verma, along with other senior members of the Gujarat delegation.

The meetings underline Gujarat’s efforts to build international partnerships and attract investment ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.
