Gandhinagar: In a landmark event, the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Worldwide Media Pvt. Ltd. to host the prestigious 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 in Gujarat. The MoU signing ceremony took place in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, underscoring Gujarat’s growing stature as a preferred destination for the entertainment industry.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel highlighted Gujarat’s emergence as a hub for film and entertainment under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. “Gujarat has received new impetus in economic, social, and cultural development, making it a preferred investment destination for the entertainment sector,” he said. He stressed that hosting the Filmfare Awards aligns with the double engine government’s commitment to promote the film industry and cinematic tourism.
Patel emphasized that filmmaking in Gujarat will accelerate the principles of Swadeshi (indigenous production) and Atmanirbharta (self-reliance). Hosting the Filmfare Awards will generate local employment, boost the economy, and encourage the purchase and use of local products — fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of Vocal for Local.
