New Delhi: In a series of important appointments and deputation orders issued on May 18, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and the Ministry of Home Affairs announced key postings involving senior officers from the banking, revenue, and police services.
Gunveer Singh has been appointed Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India, Manish Yadav has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, and Surendra Kumar Jha has been appointed Deputy Inspector General in the Border Security Force.
Gunveer Singh Appointed Executive Director of RBI
The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Gunveer Singh as Executive Director with effect from May 18, 2026.
Before his elevation, Singh was serving as Chief General Manager-in-Charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems.
As Executive Director, he will continue to oversee the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems, which plays a crucial role in regulating India’s payments infrastructure and settlement ecosystem.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost and Works Accountant, Singh brings extensive expertise in payments, banking regulation, and financial systems.
RBI Empanels Five Senior Officers for Executive Director Posts
Just a day before Singh’s appointment, RBI empanelled five senior officers for appointment as Executive Directors. Besides Gunveer Singh, the panel includes:
- Monisha Chakraborty
- Suman Ray
- Sudhakar Malli
- Ravi Shanker
The remaining officers are expected to be appointed as vacancies arise following the retirement of existing Executive Directors.
Manish Yadav Appointed Deputy Secretary in Ministry of Heavy Industries
Manish Yadav has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, New Delhi.
The 2016-batch IRS (Income Tax) officer was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, he will serve in the post for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Surendra Kumar Jha Posted as DIG in BSF on Central Deputation
Surendra Kumar Jha has been appointed Deputy Inspector General in the Border Security Force on central deputation.
A distinguished alumnus of Shivaji College, University of Delhi, Jha holds an honours degree in Political Science.
