Chandigarh: The Haryana government has issued immediate appointment orders for six trainee Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 2025 batch, marking their first field postings after completing foundational training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).
All six officers had cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 and recently returned from academy training before being assigned district-level responsibilities as Assistant Commissioners.
The appointments are seen as part of the state’s effort to strengthen district administration with newly inducted officers at the grassroots level.
First Administrative Assignments Across Six Districts
According to the posting orders, the six officers have been deployed in different districts of Haryana:

Transition from Training to Ground Administration
After selection through UPSC, IAS officers undergo foundational and professional training at LBSNAA in Mussoorie, where they are prepared for district administration, public policy implementation, and governance challenges.
The Assistant Commissioner role is considered the first practical administrative assignment where officers begin direct engagement with district governance.
District Exposure Crucial for Administrative Learning
In their first field postings, officers typically work under senior district administration and gain exposure to:
- Revenue administration
- Law and order coordination
- Welfare scheme monitoring
- Public grievance handling
- Development project execution
These early assignments are considered crucial for building administrative experience before larger responsibilities.
Haryana Continues Early Deployment of Young Officers
The state has consistently placed newly inducted officers in district assignments soon after training to ensure quicker administrative exposure and leadership development.
Officials say such postings help officers understand local governance realities at the grassroots before future departmental responsibilities.
