Chandigarh: In an important administrative development, six IPS officers of the Haryana cadre are set to be promoted after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) cleared their elevation in a meeting held on Thursday.
The proposal now moves to the Chief Minister for final approval before formal promotion orders are issued.
Two Senior Officers Cleared for Promotion to Director General Rank
Senior IPS officers Navdeep Virk and Kala Ramachandran are set to be promoted from the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) to Director General (DG).
Their elevation places them among the top-ranking police leadership in Haryana and is expected to strengthen senior command positions within the state police structure.
Officers Cleared for DG Rank:
- Navdeep Virk (IPS: 1994: HY)
- Kala Ramachandran (IPS: 1994: HY)
Four 2012-Batch IPS Officers to Be Elevated to DIG Rank
The DPC has also approved the promotion of four 2012-batch IPS officers from the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) to Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
These promotions will move them into senior supervisory policing roles across districts, ranges, and specialized wings.

- Jashandeep Singh Randhawa
- Deepak Gahlawat
- Sumer Pratap
- Sunil Kumar
Final Approval Pending with Chief Minister
Officials said the promotion file will now be sent to the Chief Minister for final approval.
Once approved, formal posting orders may follow depending on vacancies and departmental requirements.
