Assam: In a powerful testament to corporate social responsibility, ONGC’s Siu-Ka-Pha Multi-Speciality Hospital in Sivasagar has given the gift of sound to children born into silence. As part of a transformative healthcare initiative, the hospital successfully performed three free Cochlear Implant surgeries for children from economically weaker sections.

With these latest operations, the hospital has now completed six successful Cochlear Implants, officially establishing itself as a fully operational centre for such surgeries in Assam.

A Sound Breakthrough for Northeast India

The life-changing surgeries were conducted under ONGC’s flagship CSR project in Assam. Each implant surgery not only opened up a new world for the children but also signaled a growing wave of advanced medical care reaching underserved regions.

The medical procedures were carried out by the renowned KIMAYA Team from Dr. Hedgewar Hospital. Lending crucial expertise to the operations was Dr. Keshavanand Konwar, Consultant ENT, Head & Neck & Skull Base Surgery, who oversaw the precise placement of each electrode.

From silence to sound, the journey was made possible through ONGC’s vision of inclusive development and healthcare access for all.
