Ranchi: In a significant boost to local art and culture, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the ‘Johargram – Made in Jharkhand’ showroom near Karamtoli Chowk in the state capital on Sunday. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official launch of a one-stop destination for tribal clothing and traditional products from across Jharkhand.
One-Stop Destination for Tribal Clothes and Traditional Products
The newly opened showroom caters to men, women, and children, offering a wide range of tribal attire. Visitors can find tribal sarees, T-shirts, bandhies (traditional jackets), and other ethnic wear, along with tribal jewelry, local food products, and handicrafts, all under one roof.
The government believes that such initiatives will not only promote Jharkhand’s rich tribal heritage but also provide local artisans and craftsmen with a platform to showcase their talent and reach a wider audience.
Promoting Tribal Culture and Local Handicrafts
Addressing the gathering, CM Hemant Soren emphasized that Jharkhand’s identity is deeply rooted in its tribal culture and heritage. He highlighted the state government’s continuous efforts to promote tribal clothing, jewelry, cuisine, and handicrafts through multiple initiatives.
“The launch of showrooms like ‘Johargram – Made in Jharkhand’ will increase public interest in tribal attire and create greater demand for local products, giving Jharkhand’s culture a new dimension,” the Chief Minister said.
Warm Welcome by Showroom Owner and Public Enthusiasm
Ashish Satyavrat Sahu, the showroom owner, warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for his presence at the inauguration. The event witnessed large crowds of people, reflecting public appreciation for the initiative and their support for preserving and promoting Jharkhand’s tribal heritage.
Boosting Local Artisans and Cultural Recognition
The government hopes that such showrooms will not only promote tribal attire and handicrafts but also contribute to the economic empowerment of local artisans. By creating a centralized platform, Jharkhand aims to increase awareness and demand for indigenous products, helping the state’s tribal communities gain recognition both locally and nationally.
