The Himachal Pradesh government has withdrawn the transfer orders of three senior officers, initially issued on April 27, 2025. The rescinded decisions affect IAS officers Ms. Ritika and Mr. Vijay Wardhan, as well as HPAS officer Dr. (Major, Retd.) Vishal Sharma. The revised postings come into effect with immediate effect, the state government announced on Thursday.
Ms. Ritika, IAS (2019 batch), who had been transferred to the post of Commissioner, Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, Kangra, with additional charge as CEO-cum-Managing Director, Dharamshala Smart City Ltd., will now retain her existing post. She will continue to serve as Director, Land Records, Himachal Pradesh, stationed in Shimla. Her earlier transfer order has been officially rescinded.
Mr. Vijay Wardhan, IAS (2021 batch), was earlier designated to take over as Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala. However, that order has now been cancelled. Instead, he has been appointed as Director, Public Finance and Public Enterprises-cum-Special Secretary (Finance), Himachal Pradesh, with additional charge as Director, Treasuries, Accounts & Lotteries, Shimla.
Meanwhile, Dr. (Major, Retd.) Vishal Sharma, HPAS (2011 batch), will continue in his current position as Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala, with no change to his existing posting.
The government’s move to reverse these administrative decisions comes just days after the initial transfers were announced, though no official reason has been provided for the rollback. The changes are effective immediately and reflect a recalibration in the state’s administrative reshuffle strategy.
