The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has announced the appointment of Kantilal Chaturbhai Patel and Sabitha Bojan as Non-Official Independent Directors (Additional Directors) on its Board. The appointments are effective immediately and will be valid for a period of one year from the date of the order or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
About the Appointees:
Kantilal Chaturbhai Patel, a Commerce and Law graduate from Gujarat, brings over four decades of experience to the HUDCO Board. A dedicated social worker, Patel has previously served as an Independent Director at Western Coalfields Limited, further strengthening his credentials in public sector governance.
Sabitha Bojan holds a Master’s degree in Sociology, an MBA in Human Resources, and a diploma in Co-operation. With over 18 years of experience in the corporate, education, and management sectors, she has held key leadership positions as state and regional head in several organizations. Bojan is also an entrepreneur, social activist, poet, and writer, and was honored with the ‘Tamizh Chemmal’ State Award (2019) by the Government of Tamil Nadu for her contributions to the Tamil language. Her work in youth empowerment, women’s welfare, and tribal upliftment has been widely recognized.

HUDCO is a premier public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. It is engaged in financing housing and urban infrastructure projects across the country. On April 18, 2024, HUDCO was granted Navratna status, a recognition that enhances its financial and operational autonomy.
These new appointments are expected to bolster HUDCO’s governance framework and contribute to its mission of supporting inclusive urban development through sound financial strategies and sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
