New Delhi: Ajit Roy, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT 2013 batch, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Government of Mizoram, has been appointed as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, on a central deputation basis.
Ajit Roy will serve in these key roles at the Deputy Secretary level in Mizoram, under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure is set to last until December 31, 2025.
This appointment reflects the government’s continued efforts to strengthen administrative capacity in crucial functions such as census operations and citizen registration in the state, ensuring smooth and effective governance at the central and state levels.
