The Union government has lately mandated Ms. Annies Kanmani Joy, a 2012-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), to join the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) as Deputy Secretary.
As per a DoPT order dated November 25th, 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Civil Services Board’s recommendation for her lateral shift to DoPT for the remaining period of her four-year central deputation tenure or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
