The government of West Bengal has recently handed out several new responsibilities to the former Chief Secretary of the state, IAS B P Gopalika. Officer Gopalika (1989-batch IAS officer) has been made the new Chairman of the West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBIIDC) and Managing Director of the State Highway Development Corporation. The former CS shall also serve as the Chief Adviser to the Chief Minister on Project Monitoring for a period of three years. Officer Gopalika was recently succeeded by IAS Manoj Pant (1991 batch) as the Chief Secretary of West Bengal.
