The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Chandrashekhar Nayaka L, an IAS officer from the 2013 Karnataka cadre batch, as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman.
Role and Tenure
According to an official notification from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Nayaka will serve at the level of Deputy Secretary within the Ministry of Finance. His tenure as OSD is set for four years from the date he assumes charge. However, this appointment may conclude earlier if it coincides with the end of the Finance Minister’s tenure or if superseded by further orders.
Transition Details
To facilitate this appointment, the Government of Karnataka has been requested to immediately relieve Chandrashekhar Nayaka of his current duties, allowing him to take on his new responsibilities in the central government.
