New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Chinmay P Gotmare (IAS: 2009: Assam-Meghalaya cadre) for holding Joint Secretary or equivalent positions in the Government of India, according to an official communication dated April 15, 2025.
Gotmare is currently serving as Director in the Department of Expenditure, a post he took charge of in April 2024, following his appointment order issued on March 28, 2024. Known for his administrative acumen and policy expertise, Gotmare’s empanelment opens the door for higher responsibilities at the central level.
Part of Larger Empanelment Round
This empanelment is part of a broader round of appointments, in which the ACC cleared 19 officers from various All India Services and Central Civil Services for Joint Secretary-level roles across ministries and departments on April 14, 2025.
Gotmare’s inclusion reflects his growing prominence within central governance structures and adds to the pool of experienced officers eligible to take up key leadership positions in policymaking and program implementation.
