New Delhi: Gaurav Dwivedi, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre and current CEO of Prasar Bharati, has been entrusted with two key additional responsibilities – Member (Personnel) and Member (Finance) – within the public broadcaster.
The Member Finance position had remained vacant since November 10, 2024, while the Member Personnel role had been unfilled since February 5, 2017. Dwivedi’s appointment to these critical posts is expected to bring greater administrative cohesion and leadership continuity to Prasar Bharati, India’s autonomous public service broadcaster.

Who is Gaurav Dwivedi?
An experienced bureaucrat, Mr Dwivedi began his administrative career in Kerala before moving to Chhattisgarh. Over the years, he has served in various capacities in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. He was also a faculty member at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.
Mr Dwivedi is a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Administration for his innovative work in food security, particularly for digitizing paddy procurement and the Public Distribution System (PDS).
He was also the first CEO of MyGovIndia, a flagship citizen engagement platform under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. Under his leadership, the platform hosted the first-ever MyGov Town Hall in 2016.
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Dwivedi completed his schooling from Apeejay School, Noida, and earned a degree in Zoology from Hindu College, Delhi University. He holds a TRIUM Global Executive MBA — a joint degree from the London School of Economics, NYU Stern, and HEC Paris.

He took over as CEO of Prasar Bharati in November 2022, and now, with the additional charges of Member (Personnel) and Member (Finance), he is positioned to play a pivotal role in the strategic and financial direction of the national broadcaster.
