Assam: 2021 batch IAS officer Kriti Chachra (Assam-Meghalaya cadre), currently serving as Additional District Commissioner in charge of Bijni, has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, Assam. She has also been attached to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation as Joint Commissioner.
A graduate with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology from the University of Delhi, Ms Chachra’s academic excellence laid a strong foundation for her career in public service. Since joining the IAS, she has gained recognition for her diligent work, particularly during her tenure as Additional District Commissioner in Bijni, where she efficiently managed critical administrative duties and fostered community engagement.
In her new role, Ms Chachra is expected to bring her leadership skills, proactive governance, and focus on people-centric development to urban administration, especially in Assam’s largest city, Guwahati. Known for her integrity and clarity of thought, she continues to be a promising and impactful officer in the Assam cadre.
