Who is IAS Namgyal Angmo?
Ms. Namgyal Angmo hails from Nimoo village in Leh, Ladakh, and belongs to the 2020 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. Born on June 20, 1992, she secured an All India Rank of 323 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination at the age of 27. Her academic background is extensive and diverse — she completed her primary education at Moravian Mission School, continued at Lamdon School until class 10, attended United World College in Pune, pursued undergraduate studies in the United States, and earned a postgraduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
Before entering public service, Ms. Angmo worked in the corporate sector in Bengaluru. Her administrative journey began as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Kapashera, Delhi. In September 2024, she was appointed Deputy Commissioner of the Najafgarh Zone under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Now, as of June 2025, she serves as the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh.
