The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) proposal to assign 2008 batch IAS officer of MP cadre, Mr Nand Kumarum with additional responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of MyGov and Managing Director & CEO of Digital India Corporation (DIC).
His appointment is for a period of six months, effective January 9, 2025, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders – whichever is earlier.
Kumarum currently serves as the President and CEO of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), where he has played a pivotal role in implementing key digital initiatives in alignment with the government’s vision of a digitally empowered India. An alumnus of IIT Dhanbad, he brings deep expertise in public administration and digital transformation.
Previously, he served as Deputy Director at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) from July 2022 to August 2024, where he was instrumental in shaping the training programs for India’s next generation of civil servants.

Digital India Corporation is a not-for-profit organization established under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, functioning under MeitY. DIC leads research and development in the fields of electronics and information technology, and manages key national programs such as the Information Technology Research Academy (ITRA) and the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, which promote academic research and technological innovation.
With this expanded role, Nand Kumarum is expected to drive greater synergy between MyGov’s citizen engagement platform and DIC’s technology innovation initiatives, further advancing the goals of the Digital India mission.
