2007 batch IAS officer Basavaraju S has been appointed as Secretary to the newly elected Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai.
He will also hold the additional charges of Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection and Urban Administration and Development.
Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of General Administration Department, has issued an order regarding this.
Mr. Basavaraju hails from Karnataka. He is a Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry (B. VSc. & A.H.). He is known for his administrative skills and transparent working style.
With his appointment, now there are two secretaries in the CMO, with Mr. P Dayanand, an IAS officer of 2006 batch from Bihar, being the other one.
