The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has recently given the nod for the “repatriation” of Mr. Amrit Lal Meena (IAS), presently serving as a Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, to his parent cadre in Bihar. Mr. Meena will take up charge as the new Chief Secretary of the state ‘on the request’ of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Mr. Amrit Lal Meena, who is a 1989 batch IAS officer, is all set to replace Mr. Brajesh Malhotra (also a 1989 batch IAS officer), as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar.
Officer Meena had earlier served as the Principal Secretary to CM Nitish Kumar and had also held the charge of crucial portfolios as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in Departments like Rural Development, Agriculture, and Road Construction.
It must also be mentioned that the Nitish Kumar government has elected IPS officer Alok Raj as the acting DGP of Bihar after the outgoing DGP RS Bhatti was deputed as the DG of CISF.
