Two bureaucrats were posted as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) in the Union Government.
Mr. Ujjwal Kumar, presently posted as Deputy Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Sanjay Seth. He will assume the charge of the post at the Deputy Secretary level. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint Mr. Kumar to the post for three years 7 months and 16 days (for the balance period of 4 years of working as OSD in the Minister’s staff at the Deputy Secretary level) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever ends earlier.
Mr. Ashutosh Salil’s (2010-batch IAS officer) tenure as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Director level in the Department of Commerce has been extended for a further one month. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce to extend the deputation tenure of IAS Salil for one month beyond 21st September, up to 21st October 2024, before he assumes the post of Adviser (Industry & Engineering), Embassy of India, Brussels.
