1997 batch IAS officer Pankaj Kumar Bansal has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director at the National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED).
He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation.
The announcement was made in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, September 30, 2024. The competent authority has approved this assignment for a period of three months, effective immediately, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.
Mr. Bansal’s extensive experience in public administration is expected to contribute significantly to NAFED, which plays a vital role in promoting cooperative marketing of agricultural products in India.
His leadership will be instrumental in steering the organization towards enhancing its operational efficiency and effectiveness in supporting farmers across the country.
