IAS Ravindra Telang Appointed New Chief Secretary of Sikkim

This decision was announced on Friday, marking the end of the tenure of Vijay Bhushan Pathak (IAS: 1990:SK), who is set to retire on December 31, 2024.

In a significant administrative change, 1995 batch senior IAS officer of Sikkim cadre, Mr Ravindra Telang has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Sikkim. This decision was announced on Friday, marking the end of the tenure of Vijay Bhushan Pathak (IAS: 1990:SK), who is set to retire on December 31, 2024.

Currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Ravindra Telang will assume office as the Chief Secretary, taking over from Pathak, who has held the position since September 1, 2022.

During his tenure, Vijay Bhushan Pathak also served as the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner for the Planning & Development Department, with additional charge of the Finance Department.

Telang’s appointment comes as a crucial administrative change for the state, ensuring continuity in governance and development. He is expected to bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the state’s administration, as Sikkim looks ahead to the challenges and opportunities of the coming years.
