Uttar Pradesh has got 17 new IAS officers. The Central Government has issued the notification of 17 officers promoted from PCS cadre to IAS cadre. All selections have been promoted to batch year 2022.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), on 26th of September, issued the order and promoted 17 Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services (UP PCS) officers to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) against the vacancies determined by the Central government.
The PCS officers promoted to the IAS rank are Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri, Kamta Prasad Singh, Ram Sahay Yadav, Atul Singh, Ram Singh Verma, Manjulata, Alka Verma, Santosh Kumar, Sunil Kumar Singh, Chitralekha Singh, Satish Pal, Madan Singh Garbyal, Bipin Kumar Misra, Rekha S Chauhan, Anil Kumar Singh, Reena Singh and Ratnesh Singh.
Among those who got promotion in IAS cadre, two officers, Umakant Tripathi and Narendra Singh, were recruited on the post of Naib Tehsildar and after getting promotion, became PCS officers.
This is the first time in the state, when two personnel selected for the post of Naib Tehsildar, after being promoted in PCS cadre, have again become part of IAS cadre after getting promotion.
Recently, a meeting of the selection committee was held at Lok Bhawan for promotion of PCS officers to IAS cadre. On the basis of the recommendations made, 17 officers of 1999, 2004 and 2006 batch of PCS have been promoted to IAS cadre.
Official order said, the state civil services officers of Uttar Pradesh have been promoted to IAS under Regulation 5(1) of the said regulation in consultation with the state government for the select list of 2021 on probation till further order.
