IAS officer of Kerala cadre E K Majhi took his last breath in a private hospital in New Delhi died due to Covid on Tuesday. The officer was on central deputation as Additional Secretary in Department of Food and Public Distribution.
After diagnosed with Covid, he was admitted in a private hospital in the National Capital. The 1989 batch IAS officer and an Assam native, Majhi had served as DC of Thiruvananthapuram, revenue department principal secretary and agriculture department secretary before being posted in central deputation.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed grief over his death.
