New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued a fresh set of notifications on Wednesday announcing repatriation and extension of central deputation tenures of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers serving in key ministries and departments of the Union Government.
The orders pertain to officers from the Karnataka, Sikkim, and Bihar cadres and take immediate or specified effect, as detailed in the official notifications.
Subodh Yadav Repatriated to Karnataka Cadre
Mr Yadav (IAS: 1999: Karnataka), who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has been repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to the notification, the repatriation has been approved on personal grounds. With this order, Yadav’s central deputation tenure stands curtailed, and he will report back to the Karnataka government for further posting.
Deputation Extension for Aishvarya Singh in Jal Jeevan Mission Wing
The central deputation tenure of Ms Singh (IAS: 2008: Sikkim), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, has been extended by one year.
The extension will take effect beyond February 5, 2026, allowing her to continue in the department, which plays a critical role in implementing flagship programmes related to drinking water supply, sanitation, and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
M Ramachandrudu’s Tenure Extended in Census and Citizen Registration Roles
The central deputation tenure of Mr Ramachandrudu (IAS: 2009: Bihar) has been extended for a period of three months.
IAS Ramachandrudu is presently serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Bihar under the Ministry of Home Affairs. His tenure, which was due to end on December 31, 2025, has now been extended beyond that date to ensure continuity in census-related and citizen registration activities.
Administrative Continuity in Key Ministries
The extensions and repatriation reflect the Centre’s effort to balance administrative continuity in crucial departments such as water resources, sanitation, census operations, and citizen registration, while also accommodating personal and cadre-level considerations of officers.
All orders have been issued with immediate or specified effect, as mentioned in the respective notifications.
