Bhopal: The 2012 batch IAS officer from MP cadre and Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Officers-Employees Association (AJAKS) president Santosh Verma is at the center of a new controversy after a viral video surfaced in which he is heard making provocative statements, reportedly echoing comments made by Bhim Army MP Chandrashekhar.
Viral Video Triggers Outrage
In the video circulating on social media, Verma is heard saying, “How many Santosh Vermas will you kill? How many will you burn? How many will you swallow? Now, every household will produce a Santosh Verma, and you won’t have the strength to burn them all.”
The origin and date of the recording remain unclear. However, the video has resurfaced amid backlash over Verma’s earlier remarks regarding Brahmin daughters, sparking renewed outrage among community organizations.

Brahmin Organizations Demand Action
Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj leader Pushpendra Mishra condemned Verma’s remarks, saying, “Despite making derogatory comments about Brahmin daughters, no action has been taken. If an FIR is not filed soon, the community will be forced to protest.” Mishra also called on the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister to intervene and ensure accountability.
Verma Defends Comments as Internal Discussion
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Verma claimed the statements were made during an internal AJAKS meeting and were not intended for public consumption. “The statement references what Bhim Army MP Chandrashekhar said. Nothing wrong was said, and it was part of an internal discussion with association officials and workers,” he stated.
Government Disputes Verma’s AJAKS Presidency
The Madhya Pradesh government informed the state Assembly that Verma is not officially recognised as the president of AJAKS. Official records list Mukesh Maurya as the legitimate state president, following a question raised by MLA Rajendra Bharti.
The Registrar of Firms & Societies clarified that officer-employee associations do not have formal legal recognition, and the law does not determine the legitimacy of office-bearers.
Verma Alleges Fraudulent Appointment
Rejecting the government’s position, Verma called Mukesh Maurya’s appointment “totally fraudulent,” claiming Maurya has no connection with AJAKS. He demanded an investigation under Section 27 of the MP Societies Registration Act, 1973.
Background: Previous Controversial Remarks
On November 23, 2025, Verma was elected state president of AJAKS at a provincial convention in Bhopal. During the event, he controversially stated, “Reservation should be given to one person in a family until my son is married or receives a daughter from a Brahmin.”
In response, the state government issued a notice to Verma on November 26, citing violations of the All India Services Conduct Rules, 1967. The notice highlighted that his statements amounted to indiscipline and serious misconduct and called on him to explain why disciplinary action under the All India Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969 should not be initiated. Verma was given seven days to respond, failing which the government may proceed unilaterally.
