This upcoming list follows closely on the heels of a recent reshuffle and is expected to further optimize field and departmental leadership in line with governance priorities.
Commissioner and Collector Conference Scheduled in October
To coincide with the state’s larger administrative framework, the government is also organizing a high-level conference of commissioners and collectors in October. It is likely that the new transfer list will be issued ahead of this conference, allowing newly appointed officers to participate and align with strategic governance goals.
High-Profile Collector Transfers Likely
Following the transfer of the 2010-batch Indore and Jabalpur collectors, the spotlight now turns to Bhopal and Chhindwara. Mr. Kaushalendra Singh (Bhopal Collector) and Mr. Sheelendra Singh (Chhindwara Collector) may soon be shifted.
Mr. Sanjeev Shrivastava may also be transferred from Bhind following reported tensions with a local legislator. Other collectors being considered for reassignment include:
- Mr. Priyank Mishra (Dhar)
- Mr. Abhay Bedekar (Alirajpur)
- Mr. Ankit Asthana (Morena)
- Ms. Pratibha Pal Sinth (Rewa)
- Mr. Narendra Suryawanshi (Betul)
- Ms. Neha Marwa (Dindori)
- Ms. Rani Batad (Maihar)
Strategic Postings in State Capital and Jal Nigam
Mr. KVS Choudhary Kolsani, a 2011-batch IAS officer and current Managing Director of Jal Nigam, is reportedly under consideration for a posting in Bhopal. Alongside him, the names of Mr. Narendra Suryawanshi and Mr. Deepak Arya, both 2012-batch officers, are also in circulation for key postings in the state capital.
Mr. Priyank Mishra may be moved to another district as part of the reshuffle.
2016-Batch IAS Officers to Take on Collector Roles
A significant development involves the elevation of 2016-batch IAS officers to district collector roles. The officers likely to be included in this wave of appointments are:
- Mr. Harendra Narayan (Bhopal Nagar Nigam Commissioner)
- Mr. Gaurav Benal
- Mr. Kirodilal Meena
- Ms. Misha Singh
These appointments underscore the government’s emphasis on bringing in younger, dynamic officers to accelerate grassroots administration.
Department-Level Changes and Central Deputation
Beyond field positions, changes at the principal secretary and head of department levels are also under active consideration. The state is currently in search of a capable officer to head the Tourism and Culture Department following Mr. Shiv Shekhar Shukla’s appointment as Additional Chief Secretary to the Home Department.
Additionally, Ms. Sufiyah Faruqui Wali, Commissioner of the Women and Child Development Department (WCDD) and a 2009-batch officer, is slated to join the Central Government’s Census Department in Bhopal on deputation. A replacement will soon be announced for her WCDD role.
A Step Toward Enhanced Governance and Policy Implementation
The anticipated reshuffle aims to revitalize administrative leadership across the state to better implement policy, developmental projects, and improve coordination between departments. The Madhya Pradesh government appears keen on strategic placements that will support its governance roadmap and ensure smoother implementation of Central and State schemes.
