The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a six-month extension for Vivek Aggarwal (IAS) as the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit—India (FIU-IND). This extension, effective from September 30, 2024, was proposed by the Department of Revenue and will remain in effect until further notice.
Mr. Aggarwal, a 1994 batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue and has held the director role at FIU-IND since January 2023. The FIU-IND, functioning under the Ministry of Finance, is tasked with the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information regarding suspicious financial activities, playing a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of India’s financial system.
