New Delhi: The Government of India on Monday issued a series of notifications related to appointments, re-designations, and postings of senior officers, including officers from the Indian Economic Service (IES) and the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Sweta Satya Re-designated as Director in Agriculture Ministry
The post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, currently held by Sweta Satya (IES: 2012), has been re-designated as Director in the same ministry.
According to the notification –
- The re-designation will remain effective up to November 10, 2029
- Her central deputation tenure commenced on November 11, 2024
The move reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capacity within key ministries related to agriculture and farmers’ welfare.
Santanu Kumar Agrahari Elevated to Director-Level Private Secretary
In another key decision, the post of Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways, V Somanna, held by Santanu Kumar Agrahari (IAS: 2012, Jharkhand cadre), has been re-designated as Private Secretary at the Director level.
As per the notification –
- The re-designation will be valid up to November 28, 2026
- His central deputation tenure began on November 29, 2021
The elevation underscores his continued role in supporting ministerial responsibilities across the Jal Shakti and Railways portfolios.
IAS Officer Lakshay Singhal Gets New Posting in Delhi
Meanwhile, IAS officer Lakshay Singhal, who was earlier posted in Ladakh, has been given a new posting in Delhi, according to details accessed by Cross Town News.
Lakshay Singhal has been appointed as:
- Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate (DM), South Delhi
- In addition to his primary role, he will also hold additional charges, including:
- Secretary, Public Grievances Commission (PGC)
- Project Director, Delhi State AIDS Control Society (DSACS)
The new assignment places him in charge of key administrative and public service responsibilities in the national capital.
Strengthening Administrative Capacity
Officials said the latest notifications reflect the Centre’s ongoing efforts to optimize administrative efficiency, ensure continuity in governance, and deploy experienced officers in strategically important roles at both the central and regional levels.
