The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has recently mandated senior diplomat Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Singla to take charge as India’s next ambassador to France. Mr. Singla, a 1997-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently serving as the Ambassador to Israel and is expected to take up his new role shortly.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the appointment, stating, “Shri Sanjeev Kumar Singla (IFS: 1997), presently Ambassador of India to Israel, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to France.“
Officer Singla has been serving as India’s Ambassador to Israel since July 19th, 2019. Prior to this, he was the Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he first took office in 2014. He also held a position at the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Throughout his career, Singla has worked in various capacities at Indian missions in Paris, Dhaka, and Geneva. He has also been involved in key roles at the US desk in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and served as Director in the Foreign Secretary’s office.
