Shimla: The Governor of Himachal Pradesh has appointed IFS officer Sanjay Sood (Batch 1993) as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) in the state. The appointment comes following the recommendations of a special selection committee.
Current Position and Additional Responsibilities
Sanjay Sood, who is currently serving as Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation Limited (HPSFDCL), Shimla, will now hold additional charge as Head of Forest Force. He will also retain responsibilities as Managing Director of the Forest Corporation and Chief Project Director of JICA projects in the state.
Salary and Rank
In his new role, Sood will be entitled to the top scale (Level 17) in the pay matrix, amounting to ₹2,25,000 per month, reflecting the seniority and responsibilities associated with leading the state’s forest department.
Official Notification
A notification formalizing the appointment was issued by Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, confirming the transfer of additional charge to IFS officer Sanjay Sood. The decision aligns with the state government’s emphasis on strengthening forest management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development initiatives in Himachal Pradesh.
