Algiers: Strengthening the defence partnership between India and Algeria, an Industrial Defence Seminar was held in Algiers under the aegis of the Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence (MoD), India. The event aimed at enhancing bilateral defence ties through industrial collaboration, technology sharing, and showcasing India’s growing capabilities in defence manufacturing.
High-Level Delegations from Both Nations Attend
The Indian delegation was led by Mr. Amit Satija, Joint Secretary (Defence Industries Promotion – DIP), Ministry of Defence. Representing Algeria was Major General SEDDIKI Smail, Chief of Logistics Department, People’s National Army (PNA) of Algeria. The seminar was graced by H.E. Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, Ambassador of India to Algeria.

The seminar witnessed participation from 22 Indian defence and aerospace companies, representing a wide range of sectors including:

- Aerospace and Aviation
- Shipbuilding
- Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)
- Body Armour and Tactical Gear
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Drone Technologies
This diverse representation highlighted India’s advancements in both conventional and futuristic defence technologies.

Deepening Strategic Defence Engagement
Both sides agreed to explore industrial cooperation and joint defence production, laying the groundwork for long-term collaboration in key defence sectors. The seminar provided a vital platform for Algerian stakeholders to understand India’s capabilities and offerings in defence manufacturing and services.
The interaction helped project India as a reliable and strategic defence partner and offered a vision for shared security interests in the evolving global defence landscape.
